NASHVILLE: The Nashville Predators have signed forward Jack Drury to a five-year contract worth $22.5 million, just days after acquiring him in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche.
The agreement strengthens Nashville’s roster as the team continues to build for the upcoming NHL season.
New Contract Follows Recent Trade
The Predators completed the trade earlier this week, receiving Drury along with forward Chase Bradley and a third-round selection in the 2029 NHL Draft from Colorado.
In exchange, Nashville sent forwards Zachary L’Heureux and Fedor Svechkov to the Avalanche.
The new contract reflects the organization’s confidence in Drury’s ability to play an important role over the coming years.
Career-Best Season in Colorado
The 26-year-old center enjoyed the most productive regular season of his NHL career in 2025-26.
Drury scored a career-high 10 goals and matched his personal best with 27 points, while appearing in all 82 regular-season games for Colorado.
He also contributed during the playoffs, recording three goals and two assists in 13 postseason games as the Avalanche advanced to the Western Conference Final.
Faceoff Strength Adds Value
One of Drury’s biggest strengths is his performance in the faceoff circle.
Last season, he won 58.1% of his faceoffs, ranking among the NHL’s top players in that category among those who took at least 900 draws.
His reliability on both ends of the ice and ability to handle key defensive assignments make him a valuable addition to Nashville’s lineup.
Predators Welcome Drury
Following the trade, Nashville management praised Drury’s work ethic, consistency and all-around style of play.
Team officials believe his arrival will improve the club’s depth at center while adding experience and stability to the forward group.
With a long-term contract now in place, Drury is expected to be an important part of the Predators’ plans as they prepare for the new NHL season.
