Apr 15, 2026

Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana has called on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to introduce a dedicated women’s cricket league in the country.

Speaking to the media, she described the proposed Pakistan Women’s Cricket League as an important step for the development of women’s cricket. She said the league would help attract international players to Pakistan and provide local players with more exposure and opportunities to compete at a higher level.

Fatima emphasized that many countries in Asia have already established women’s leagues, and launching a similar platform in Pakistan would further support the growth of the sport.

🏏 Focus on Upcoming World Cup

The 24-year-old captain is set to lead Pakistan in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. She expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparations, noting that this is the first time the squad is receiving a structured buildup ahead of a major tournament.

She highlighted that the team will benefit from:

  • A home series against Zimbabwe
  • An international tour to Ireland
  • Regular domestic tournaments and training camps

🎯 Goals and Team Development

Fatima Sana also shared her personal aim of maintaining consistency as an all-rounder and contributing more effectively to the team’s success. She added that efforts are being made to develop more all-rounders, which can strengthen the overall balance of the squad.
