Pakistan Reports Shooting Down Eight Drones Along Afghan Border

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s air defence system intercepted and shot down eight drones after they entered the country’s airspace from Afghanistan, security sources said on Wednesday.

According to the sources, all eight drones were detected and intercepted by the armed forces, preventing them from proceeding further into Pakistani territory.

Four drones were reportedly brought down near the Torkham border area, while the remaining four were intercepted in mountainous locations along the border near Kohat.

The reported incidents follow an operation by Pakistani security forces targeting Afghan Taliban positions and hideouts in the Kurram sector on Tuesday night, according to the same security sources.
