Pakistan Win Toss, Opt to Bowl Against Australia in 2nd ODI in Lahore

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first against Australia in the second One Day International (ODI) played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Tuesday.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi and Australia’s Josh Inglis were present at the toss, where the decision was made to bowl first under Lahore conditions.

Pakistan currently lead the three-match series 1–0 after a strong performance in the opening ODI held in Rawalpindi. Arafat Minhas impressed on debut in that match, playing a key role as Pakistan’s bowling unit dominated the Australian batting lineup.

In the previous game, Pakistan’s spinners made a significant impact, taking the majority of wickets and restricting Australia’s scoring opportunities in challenging conditions.

The series now moves to Lahore, a venue known for generally high-scoring matches and batting-friendly pitches. In recent years, the ground has witnessed several big totals, including successful chases by both Pakistan and visiting teams.

Australia are touring with a relatively young squad, as several senior players are unavailable. The series is being viewed as an opportunity for emerging players to gain experience in subcontinental playing conditions.
