Pakistani Doctor Develops AI Chatbot to Promote Skin Health Awareness
A Pakistani skin cancer specialist, Dr. Dua Khan, has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot designed to help raise awareness about skin health and provide general guidance on common skin conditions.
According to Dr. Khan, the chatbot focuses on educating users about potential warning signs associated with various dermatological conditions, including skin cancer, and encourages timely consultation with healthcare professionals when needed.
She explained that limited awareness about skin-related issues can sometimes result in delayed medical attention. The new AI-powered tool aims to help users better understand common symptoms and recognize when professional evaluation may be necessary.
The chatbot provides general informational support regarding skin health and is intended to serve as an educational resource for the public. Dr. Khan noted that the development process took approximately three months.
She emphasized that the chatbot is not designed to replace medical professionals or provide a definitive diagnosis. Instead, it is intended to support awareness efforts and encourage individuals to seek advice from qualified dermatologists for proper evaluation and treatment.
The initiative highlights the growing use of artificial intelligence in healthcare education, where digital tools are increasingly being used to improve public access to health information and promote early awareness of medical conditions.
