Pakistan Batter Maaz Sadaqat Recovering After Successful Surgery
Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat is expected to remain out of action for at least two weeks after undergoing a successful appendectomy in Lahore, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The 21-year-old left-handed batter was unable to participate in the National T20 Cup 2025-26 final after experiencing a medical issue that required immediate treatment.
According to the PCB, Maaz had recently joined the Abbottabad squad and took part in training sessions before developing severe abdominal discomfort on Sunday morning. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Following diagnostic tests, doctors confirmed appendicitis and recommended surgery in consultation with the PCB medical team. The procedure was carried out successfully.
The board stated that the young cricketer is currently in stable condition and recovering under the supervision of medical professionals.
Maaz Sadaqat recently represented Pakistan in the ODI series against Australia and was also included among the players selected for the upcoming white-ball training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), scheduled to begin on June 15.
The PCB said he will rejoin cricket activities only after completing his recovery and receiving medical clearance.
As part of preparations for upcoming domestic and international commitments, the PCB has announced separate red-ball and white-ball training camps at the NCA, with 49 players participating across both programs.
