PCB Names 20 Bowlers for Special Development Camps

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected 20 bowlers for a special two-phase development camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
The group includes 12 fast bowlers and eight spinners, with eight uncapped players among the selected cricketers. The initiative is part of the PCB’s player development program aimed at improving the skills and performance of emerging bowlers.
Fast Bowlers to Attend First Camp
The fast bowlers will participate in a five-day training camp from August 24 to 28 under the supervision of NCA coaches.
The second phase will focus on spinners and is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 4.
During the camps, the players will work with NCA coaches and members of Pakistan’s men’s white-ball coaching staff.
Training sessions will focus on technical and tactical improvements, while coaches will also review the players’ recent competitive performances.
Seven Uncapped Fast Bowlers Included
The seven uncapped fast bowlers selected for the camp are:
- Razaullah — Peshawar
- Mohammad Salman — Lahore
- Qayyum Khan — Faisalabad
- Abdul Subhan — Sialkot
- Abuzar — Peshawar
- Mohammad Imran Jr — Peshawar
- Muhammad Imran — Bahawalpur
The capped fast bowlers include Mohammad Salman Mirza, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Mohammad Hasnain and Faheem Ashraf.
Eight Spinners Selected
The spinner group includes uncapped player Mehran Mumtaz.
The capped spinners are:
- Mubasir Khan
- Saad Masood
- Faisal Akram
- Arafat Minhas
- Abrar Ahmed
- Danish Aziz
- Mohammad Nawaz
The players represent different regional cricket associations, including Rawalpindi, Multan, Karachi and other regions.
Qayyum Khan Yet to Make Competitive Debut
Among the 20 players, Qayyum Khan is the only cricketer who has not yet made his competitive cricket debut.
The right-arm fast bowler did, however, appear for Sports Board Punjab in this year’s President’s Trophy Grade-II Silver competition.
The development camps are intended to help the selected bowlers improve their skills and provide the coaching staff with an opportunity to assess players who could potentially progress to higher levels of domestic and national cricket.
