Pixel Watch 5 Leak Surfaces Ahead of Official Launch

Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 5 may have appeared online months before its expected launch, thanks to an unusual discovery shared on social media.

According to reports, video game developer and Gearbox Software co-founder Randy Pitchford posted images of a smartwatch that was allegedly found underwater by a friend while scuba diving near Saint Martin.

Pitchford claimed the device appeared to be a “Google Pixel 5” watch based on markings visible on the back. He added that although the smartwatch showed a low-battery indicator, it still displayed the correct time when powered on.

The post quickly attracted attention from technology enthusiasts, with many speculating that the device could be the unannounced Google Pixel Watch 5. Pitchford later stated that someone had contacted him regarding the device and arrangements were made to return it to its owner.

While Google has not officially commented on the incident, rumors surrounding the next-generation Pixel Watch have been circulating for months. Industry reports suggest the upcoming smartwatch could feature improvements in performance, battery life, and deeper integration with Google’s ecosystem.

The incident has drawn comparisons to previous high-profile tech leaks, including the original Pixel Watch prototype that surfaced before its launch and other famous accidental product discoveries in the technology industry.

Google traditionally unveils new Pixel devices during its annual hardware event later in the year. Until then, details about the Pixel Watch 5 remain unofficial, and the company has yet to confirm any specifications or release plans.

Technology fans will likely have to wait for Google’s official announcement to learn more about the smartwatch and determine whether the device found underwater was truly an early Pixel Watch 5 unit.
