The race for the final playoff spot in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) has intensified as the tournament enters its decisive stage, with several teams still in contention ahead of the last round of league matches.
Islamabad United became the latest side to confirm their place in the playoffs after a strong eight-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen. The win took Islamabad United to 11 points from nine matches, joining already-qualified teams Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans in the next stage.
With the top three spots secured, attention has now shifted to the remaining playoff position, which is being contested by multiple teams including Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Hyderabad Kingsmen, and Quetta Gladiators.
Islamabad United’s recent win pushed Hyderabad Kingsmen down the table, while Karachi Kings remain in a similar position with eight points. Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings are both still in strong contention, but their qualification chances now depend on winning their remaining fixtures and other match results.
Hyderabad Kingsmen must secure a big win in their final match and also rely on other results going in their favour to improve their net run rate. Lahore Qalandars face a challenging final game against unbeaten Peshawar Zalmi, while Karachi Kings will look to stay alive in the competition with a crucial final fixture against Quetta Gladiators.
Even Quetta Gladiators remain mathematically in the race, with qualification still possible depending on multiple match outcomes and net run rate calculations.
With several combinations still possible, the final round of PSL 11 matches is expected to determine the last remaining playoff spot, making the conclusion of the league stage highly competitive and unpredictable.
