Islamabad United Secure Dominant Win Over Hyderabad Kingsmen to Confirm PSL 11 Playoff Spot
Islamabad United booked their place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) playoffs with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 36th match at the National Bank Stadium.
The result confirmed Islamabad United’s qualification for the playoffs alongside Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans.
Hyderabad Kingsmen, batting first, were bowled out for 80 runs in 15.5 overs — the lowest total of PSL 11 so far and one of the lowest in the league’s history. Usman Khan top-scored with an unbeaten 25 off 35 balls, while Saim Ayub, Kusal Perera, and Asif Mehmood contributed 12 runs each.
Islamabad United’s bowling attack delivered a strong performance, with Richard Gleeson, Imad Wasim, and Shadab Khan taking three wickets each. Salman Mirza also claimed one wicket.
In reply, Islamabad United lost an early wicket when Devon Conway was dismissed for a duck, but the team quickly recovered. A strong partnership between Sameer Minhas and Mohsin Riaz guided the chase. Riaz scored 42 off 18 balls, while Minhas remained unbeaten on 27 off 20 balls.
Islamabad United completed the chase with ease, securing victory with 80 balls remaining — one of the largest margins in PSL history in terms of balls left.
The win further strengthened Islamabad United’s position in the tournament as they move confidently into the playoff stage.
