PTI Lawmaker’s Arrest Leads to Protests in Chitral
CHITRAL: The arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir in Islamabad has led to protests in Chitral, with party workers holding demonstrations ahead of the PTI’s planned September 27 march towards the federal capital.
Hundreds of PTI supporters and local residents participated in demonstrations on Monday. A rally in Chitral city was led by Senator Falak Naz, PTI leader Syed Farid Jan and other party representatives.
The protesters marched towards the Chitral Press Club, where local PTI leaders addressed the gathering and called for Nasir’s release.
PTI Leaders Condemn Arrest
Speaking at the demonstration, PTI representatives criticised the arrest and said the detention had raised concerns among party supporters in the district.
The speakers also referred to the detention of MNA Abdul Latif and said the arrests had affected the representation of Chitral in the national and provincial assemblies.
PTI leaders said they planned to continue organising workers for the party’s September 27 march in Islamabad. They also called for the release of party founder Imran Khan and other detained members.
The protesters demanded the immediate release of Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir and urged authorities to address their concerns through legal and political channels.
Senator Falak Naz Addresses Supporters
Senator Falak Naz told the gathering that PTI supporters would continue their political activities despite the arrests.
She also spoke about Imran Khan’s political standing and criticised what she described as efforts to restrict his political role.
The PTI leadership in Chitral said preparations for the September 27 march were continuing, with local party workers expected to participate.
The demonstrations remained focused on the arrest of the MPA and the party’s broader political demands as PTI supporters prepared for the planned Islamabad march.
