PTI to Begin Long March From Lakki Marwat on October 4

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that its planned long march will begin from Lakki Marwat on October 4 and is scheduled to reach Peshawar on October 6.

According to the announced schedule, the procession will leave Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat at around 1pm on October 4. The first stop is planned in Karak, while Kohat will be the next stop on October 5.

The caravans are expected to leave Kohat for Peshawar on October 6.

PTI leaders said the march will be led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. Caravans from Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South Waziristan and Bannu are expected to gather in Lakki Marwat before joining the main procession.

PTI’s parliamentary party leader in the National Assembly Shahid Khattak and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan have also confirmed that Afridi will lead the march. Former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur is expected to participate as well.

The party has said the march is being organised over several issues concerning PTI founder Imran Khan. These include calls for faster hearings in cases involving Khan, access to medical treatment and an end to restrictions on meetings with him.

PTI had earlier postponed its planned march to October 4. The party has continued preparations for the event, while the detailed arrangements and route have been discussed by its leadership.

The chief minister is expected to brief provincial assembly members, party office-bearers and affiliated organisations about the detailed arrangements for the march.
