Punjab Education Minister Announces Plan to Teach in Government Schools

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that he will begin teaching classes in government schools as part of a new initiative launched on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Speaking about the program, the minister said that English and Chemistry are his preferred subjects and that he intends to teach both during his visits to schools across Punjab.

According to Rana Sikandar Hayat, he plans to teach English at the primary school level and Chemistry at the high school level. He also said he would be willing to teach other subjects whenever required.

The minister stated that the initiative is expected to begin in the first week of September. Under the plan, he will visit a different government school each week and conduct classroom sessions during those visits.

Rana Sikandar Hayat said he holds the teaching profession in high regard and considers it a privilege to interact directly with students in the classroom.

He explained that the initiative is designed to help the provincial government better understand the challenges faced by government schools and assess classroom teaching firsthand. According to the minister, regular interaction with teachers and students will support efforts to improve the quality of education and guide future reforms in the public education system.
