Punjab Revenue Authority Intensifies Action Against Tax Violations
The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has announced stricter enforcement measures against businesses found violating tax regulations across the province.
During a recent review meeting, PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra directed officials to strengthen monitoring and ensure compliance with tax laws among registered businesses.
According to the authority, ongoing assessments have identified a number of businesses with repeated compliance issues. The PRA stated that modern monitoring tools, including digital tracking systems, data analytics, and Point-of-Sale (POS) technology, are being used to improve transparency and oversight.
Officials said efforts will focus on recovering outstanding tax dues, enforcing applicable regulations, and encouraging greater compliance across the business sector.
The PRA also emphasized its commitment to improving revenue collection through enhanced auditing procedures, stronger enforcement mechanisms, and increased use of technology.
Chairman Sipra noted that effective tax compliance plays an important role in supporting public services and development initiatives. He added that the authority will continue working to strengthen its monitoring framework and achieve revenue targets through lawful and transparent processes.
