Punjab Suspends Performances of Eight Stage Actresses for One Month

The Punjab Information and Culture Department has imposed a one-month performance ban on eight stage actresses following findings from monitoring reports related to stage productions.

The action was taken after the Punjab Council of the Arts submitted a report regarding performances considered inappropriate under the applicable guidelines for stage dramas.

Eight Performers Face One-Month Ban

According to the notification, the actresses affected by the decision are:

  • Mahi Rajput
  • Hina Sheikh
  • Malaika Shehzadi
  • Madiha Khan
  • Mehak Noor
  • Mano Multan
  • Raima Mehr
  • Hasna Jutt

All eight performers have been prohibited from appearing in stage theatre productions across Punjab for a period of one month.

Action Based on Monitoring Reports

The Punjab Information and Culture Department said the decision followed observations made during the monitoring of stage shows.

Officials have instructed relevant authorities to ensure that the notification is implemented across the province.

Pukar Director Mughees bin Aziz said monitoring and regulatory action is being carried out across Punjab based on reports concerning stage dramas.

The department’s latest decision is part of its efforts to ensure that stage performances follow the province’s applicable rules and guidelines.
