Quadri Aruna Supports Son’s Journey in Table Tennis as Next Generation Emerges
Nigerian table tennis star Quadri Aruna has shared his thoughts on his son’s growing interest in the sport, saying he is fully supportive of the next generation developing their own path.
Speaking in a recent interview, the veteran player explained that his son was not forced into table tennis but chose it willingly after being inspired by his father’s career.
Family Support in Sport
Aruna said his family is actively involved in his son’s training. His wife serves as his coach, while he occasionally joins as a training partner to help guide his development.
He added that the family’s focus is to create the right environment for learning, improvement, and enjoyment rather than pressure or expectations.
Encouraging the Next Generation
The Olympic trailblazer emphasized that young athletes should be given freedom to choose their own sporting journey. He said his role is to provide support, discipline, and motivation wherever needed.
Aruna also highlighted the importance of long-term development in sports, especially for young players aiming to compete at international levels in the future.
The table tennis star remains one of Africa’s most successful athletes in the sport and continues to inspire a new generation of players across the continent.
