Samsung Rolls Out ChatGPT and Codex for Employees Worldwide
Samsung Electronics has announced a major partnership with OpenAI to provide ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to employees across key divisions of the company.
The rollout will include all Samsung Electronics employees in South Korea, as well as staff in the company’s Device eXperience (DX) division globally. The move is described as one of OpenAI’s largest enterprise deployments to date.
AI Tools for Work Tasks
Samsung plans to integrate ChatGPT and Codex into a wide range of business operations, including software development, marketing, research, product design, and manufacturing.
ChatGPT will assist employees with tasks such as information analysis, document preparation, brainstorming, and data interpretation.
Codex will support developers in writing, reviewing, and debugging code, while also helping non-technical teams build internal tools, websites, and automated workflows.
Expanded Partnership with OpenAI
Samsung already works with OpenAI in the field of AI infrastructure, supplying advanced memory chips for next-generation systems. The new agreement extends this collaboration into internal company operations.
The company has also been expanding AI features in its consumer products through Galaxy AI and One UI.
Growing Use of Codex
OpenAI reported that millions of users now rely on Codex weekly for various technical and non-technical tasks. Adoption in South Korea has also increased significantly in recent months.
Wider AI Adoption in South Korea
Several major South Korean organizations, including LG Electronics and academic institutions, are also increasingly adopting OpenAI tools to support education, research, and business operations.
