Venue Change Possible for Pakistan vs England Test in 2027
A proposed one-off Test match between Pakistan and England in 2027 could see a change of venue, with reports suggesting a shift from Old Trafford to Lord’s.
According to international media reports, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is reviewing potential adjustments to the 2027 home cricket schedule.
Possible Changes in Schedule
The proposed restructuring could also impact other major fixtures, including the World Test Championship (WTC) final. While Lord’s is currently scheduled to host the final until 2031, reports suggest the venue’s hosting rights may be reconsidered.
If changes are made, The Oval has emerged as a possible alternative venue for the WTC final.
Impact on England vs Pakistan Test
Under the revised plans, Lord’s could be awarded an additional Test match in 2027. This would open the possibility of hosting the proposed one-off Test between England and Pakistan at Lord’s instead of Old Trafford.
The match is currently scheduled for May 2027 as part of the ECB’s Future Tours Programme.
England Home Summer 2027 Schedule
England’s 2027 home season is already set to include major fixtures, including an Ashes Test at Lord’s. Pakistan are also scheduled to tour England for a three-match Test series later in the year.
That series is set to begin on August 19 at Headingley, followed by the second Test at Lord’s on August 27 and the final Test at Edgbaston on September 9.
