Punjab Approves 332 New Posts for Transport Authority

The Punjab government has approved 332 new positions for the Punjab Transport Authority to strengthen staffing across the province.

The approved recruitment plan includes 25 Transport Officers in Grade 14 and 25 Junior Transport Officers in Grade 11.

In addition, the Punjab Transport Authority will recruit 123 head constables and 123 constables to support transport-related enforcement and field operations.

36 Drivers Also Included

According to the Transport Department, 36 drivers will also be hired under a lump-sum salary package. Their compensation will be determined by a selection board headed by the chief secretary.

All 332 positions will initially be filled on a three-year contract basis.

Officials said the recruitment will not require additional government funding. The salaries and other related expenses will be covered through the department’s existing budget.

Recruitment to Address Staff Shortages

The new appointments are intended to help reduce staffing shortages in Punjab’s 36 district transport authorities and improve the department’s ability to manage transport-related responsibilities across the province.
