China Expands Visa-Free Travel to 74 Countries, Boosts International Tourism
China has significantly broadened its visa-free entry policy, now allowing citizens from 74 countries to visit for up to 30 days without requiring a visa. The move aims to strengthen global tourism and business ties.
Surge in Visa-Free Travel to China
According to official data, more than 20 million travelers entered China under the visa-free policy in 2024, more than double the number recorded the previous year. The increase highlights growing global interest in visiting China for tourism, business, and cultural exchange.

The expanded list now includes:

On July 16, 2025, Azerbaijan will also join the list, bringing the total to 75 countries.
Visa-Free Transit Policy
In addition to the 30-day visa-free access, China also offers a 10-day visa-free transit policy at select international airports. This applies to nationals of:

However, this transit policy does not currently apply to Pakistani passport holders or citizens of several other South Asian and African nations.
Current Status for Pakistani Travelers
Despite China’s strong diplomatic and trade ties with Pakistan, Pakistani citizens are not currently eligible for the 30-day or 10-day visa-free entry programs. Travelers from Pakistan must apply for a visa through standard procedures prior to their trip.
