August 3, 2025 – Argentina’s men’s national hockey team has officially secured their place at the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, following a stunning 10-0 victory over the USA in the Pan American Cup final.
The tournament, held in the Americas, granted only one direct qualification spot for the upcoming World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands, and Argentina left no doubt about who deserved it.
Unbeaten Run to the Title
Argentina’s road to qualification was marked by dominance at every stage. Placed in Pool A, they began their campaign with a commanding 13-0 win over Brazil, followed by a 3-0 win over the USA, and a 12-0 shutout against hosts Uruguay, securing the top position in their group.
In the semi-finals, Argentina faced Canada, who had finished second in Pool B. Despite conceding the first goal, Argentina came back strong to win 9-1, powered by standout performances from Tomas Domene (4 goals) and Nicolas della Torre (3 goals).
Golden Glory in the Final
In the final against the USA, the Leones were unstoppable. With an aggressive attacking display, they cruised to a 10-0 victory. Tomas Domene, Tadeo Marucci, and Bautista Capurro each scored twice, while Lucas Toscani, Lucas Martinez, Lucio Mendez, and Nicolas della Torre added one each.
The win marks Argentina’s fourth consecutive and fifth overall Pan American Cup title, and with it, a ticket to the 2026 World Cup.

“I’m incredibly proud to represent Argentina 100 times. Our main goal was World Cup qualification, and we achieved it together. From start to finish, the team gave everything, and this result proves it.”
