Murree to Get State-Of-The-Art Cardiac and Medical Facilities

Punjab to Introduce Modern Cardiac Facilities in Murree for the First Time

Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has announced that Syed Muhammad Hussain Samli Hospital and Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre will provide state-of-the-art treatment services for Murree and surrounding areas, marking a major step forward in healthcare for the hill station.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department on Friday to review the progress of both facilities. Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood Khan was also present.

Modern Cardiac Care Coming to Murree
Rafique said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, advanced cardiac facilities are being introduced in Murree for the first time in history. The Punjab government is investing crores of rupees in the purchase of modern medical machinery, with staffing and equipment for the hospital’s catheter lab being arranged on an emergency basis.

Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood Khan assured that staffing issues are being resolved quickly. He emphasized that connecting the Murree facilities with the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology will significantly enhance treatment outcomes. Relevant officers have been instructed to ensure timely completion of all tasks.

Construction and Equipment Procurement in Progress
The meeting also directed the Communication & Works (C&W) Department to speed up construction and finishing work. Superintendent Engineer Buildings Department Rawalpindi Imran Ali Satti, along with the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, briefed participants on the latest progress, procurement of medical equipment, and staffing requirements.

Attendees and Participation
The meeting was attended by Chairman Punjab CM Advisory Committee for Cardiology Dr. Farqad Alamgir, Dr. Adnan Khan, Special Secretary Operations Tariq Mahmood Rahmani, Special Secretary Development Zeeshan Shabbir Rana, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti, and Additional Secretaries Ameer Muhammad and Anwar Bariar, among other senior officials.

MS Syed Muhammad Hussain Samli Hospital and Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre Dr. Qaiser Mahmood Abbasi, along with other participants, joined the session via video link.

With these developments, Murree is set to witness a healthcare transformation, bringing specialized cardiac treatment closer to residents and tourists in the region.
