Samu Aghehowa Shines with Two Goals for Porto, Sends Strong Message Amid Newcastle and Aston Villa Interest

Spanish striker Samu Aghehowa kicked off the 2025-26 season in style, scoring twice as Porto defeated Vitória Guimarães 3-0 in their league opener on August 11, 2025.

The Ceuta-born forward, who has attracted attention from Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Aston Villa, made a strong statement about his commitment to Porto. Coming off the bench after 30 minutes, Aghehowa headed in Porto’s second goal following a precise pass from teammate Pepe.

Celebrating, he kissed the club crest and pointed downward—clearly signaling his intention to stay with the Portuguese side despite ongoing transfer speculation linking him to Newcastle, who are reportedly eyeing him as a potential replacement for striker Alexander Isak.

Aghehowa capped off his impactful performance by netting Porto’s third goal late in the match. After a shot from Eustáquio was saved by the goalkeeper, the striker was quick to capitalize on the rebound and confidently sealed the 3-0 victory.

With this confident start to the season, Samu Aghehowa is making it clear he remains focused on delivering for Porto.
