ISLAMABAD: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming Pakistan’s tech industry, impacting job opportunities even as the sector continues to grow. According to the PASHA Skills Survey 2025, AI-driven tools and apps are automating many routine tasks, reducing the demand for large teams while increasing the need for professionals who can integrate AI into their work.
Last year, Pakistan’s IT sector hired 32,685 technical and 1,969 non-technical professionals. Companies are now prioritizing multi-skilled individuals capable of coding, designing, and leveraging AI to automate workflows, generate insights, and boost productivity. This trend favors professionals who can wear multiple hats and scale impact using AI technologies.

The survey included 256 IT companies, providing a clear picture of Pakistan’s tech talent demand. It identifies skill gaps, highlights emerging opportunities, and guides strategic training interventions to strengthen the IT workforce.

Muhammad Umair Nizam, Senior Vice Chairman of PASHA, emphasized that human capital is the industry’s most valuable asset. “Continuous training and skill development are essential. Investing in young talent with emerging technologies will not only empower the IT sector but also raise living standards across the country,” he said.
