Injuries Force Changes in Pakistan’s Team for 2025 World Athletics Championships
Pakistan’s squad for the 2025 World Athletics Championships faces last-minute changes after injuries sidelined several athletes.
Sprinter Tameen Khan, who was set to compete in the 100m event, withdrew after sustaining an injury during training. The Peshawar-born athlete, twice named Pakistan’s fastest woman, has been advised to rest for at least two weeks, ruling her out of the championships.
With Shajar Abbas still recovering and uncertainty over Yasir Sultan and Mueed Baloch, star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem may now be Pakistan’s sole representative in Tokyo. Arshad is also returning from surgery, heightening expectations for a standout performance.
Despite the setbacks, all focus is now on Arshad as Pakistan aims for a strong showing on the world stage.
