Pakistan Refinery Limited Resumes Operations After Planned Maintenance

Karachi, September 2, 2025

Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has officially restarted its refinery operations following a temporary shutdown for scheduled regeneration, the company confirmed today.

PRL had paused operations on August 15, 2025, for planned maintenance aimed at upgrading and optimizing its facilities. With the resumption of activities, the refinery is now fully operational and ready to meet growing energy demands in Pakistan.

In a formal notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PRL stated:
“PRL has restarted its Refinery Operations from today, September 2, 2025.”

Located on Korangi Creek Road, Karachi, the refinery plays a critical role in the country’s energy sector, supplying refined petroleum products to fuel both industry and everyday consumption.

The restart comes at a crucial time as Pakistan continues efforts to stabilize energy supplies and support economic growth across the nation.
