Rainfall and Floods Result in Cancellation of Two Major Trains

Heavy Rains Disrupt Train Operations Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Train services in Pakistan continue to face challenges as heavy rains and flooding impact travel nationwide. On Tuesday, Pakistan Railways confirmed the suspension of two major passenger trains.

The Pak Business Express was cancelled after officials reported a significant decline in passenger bookings. Meanwhile, the Shah Hussain Express will remain suspended for the next four days and is scheduled to resume operations on September 6, 2025.

To minimize inconvenience, passengers booked on the Pak Business Express are being accommodated on the Karakoram Express, while Shah Hussain Express travelers will be adjusted on the Green Line Express.

A railways spokesperson advised passengers to stay in touch with local reservation offices for the latest updates and assistance.

In addition, Pakistan Railways is working on new initiatives to enhance domestic travel. A dedicated train service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi is under consideration, following a high-level meeting in Lahore chaired by Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in attendance.
