Pakistan Railways Announces Over 1,000 New Jobs Across Multiple Categories

The federal government has approved fresh recruitment in Pakistan Railways, opening up more than 1,000 vacancies across various posts. The decision is aimed at strengthening the workforce and improving passenger services nationwide.

Details of New Vacancies
According to reports, the hiring process will cover three categories of staff:

  • Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI):
    A total of 81 posts will be filled, requiring candidates to have an Intermediate qualification. Of these, 69 positions are for men, 8 for women, and 4 seats have been reserved for minorities.

  • Constables:
    Pakistan Railways will recruit 914 constables, including 789 male candidates, 89 female candidates, and 39 posts for minorities. Applicants must hold a Matriculation certificate with at least a C grade.

Focus on Passenger Safety and Inclusivity
In addition to recruitment, Pakistan Railways has introduced new reforms to enhance passenger safety and comfort. The measures include:

  • Gender-sensitive travel protocols

  • Awareness campaigns and staff training

  • Special facilities for women and differently-abled travelers

  • Designated seating areas and wheelchairs at major stations

A Step Toward Better Services
Officials say these reforms, along with the recruitment drive, will improve security, boost efficiency, and ensure a more inclusive travel experience for passengers across the country.
