Former Premier League Defender Titus Bramble Joins Pakistan Football Team

Former Premier League defender Titus Bramble has joined the Pakistan men’s senior national football team as an assistant coach, strengthening the national side’s coaching setup ahead of its upcoming international commitments.
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) confirmed Bramble’s appointment, adding the former Newcastle United, Wigan Athletic and Sunderland defender to the national team’s coaching staff.
Titus Bramble’s Playing Career
The 45-year-old began his professional career with Ipswich Town before making a move to Newcastle United. He spent five seasons with the club and made 156 appearances across all competitions.
Bramble later played for Wigan Athletic and Sunderland, accumulating more than 200 Premier League appearances during his playing career.
At international level, Bramble represented England at Under-21 level on 10 occasions but did not make an appearance for the senior national team.
After his playing career began winding down, Bramble took on coaching responsibilities. He worked as a player-coach at Stowmarket Town before retiring from professional football in 2018.
He subsequently gained coaching experience with the Ipswich Town academy and also worked in Dubai.
Reunion With Pakistan Head Coach
Bramble’s appointment also brings him together with Pakistan head coach Nolberto “Nobby” Solano, with whom he previously played at Newcastle United.
The pair shared the pitch 83 times between 2002 and 2007 during their time at the English club.
Solano took charge of Pakistan’s national team in July 2025 and has since focused on strengthening the squad, including identifying eligible players of Pakistani heritage competing abroad.
Pakistan Football Team’s Upcoming Challenges
According to the PFF, Bramble’s experience in English football will contribute to the national team’s preparations for the FIFA ASEAN Cup and other upcoming international assignments.
His arrival adds further coaching experience to Pakistan’s senior setup as the team continues its efforts to develop its player pool and improve its international performances.
