Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Strong Support for Pakistan on 95th National Day
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Pakistan, highlighting the enduring friendship and growing cooperation between the two nations.
Speaking at a grand ceremony in Islamabad marking the 95th National Day of Saudi Arabia, the Ambassador assured Pakistanis that the Kingdom will continue to stand by Pakistan in all circumstances. Quoting national poet Allama Iqbal, he emphasized the importance of Muslim unity and the protection of the Holy Mosque in Makkah.
Pakistan’s Senate Chairman Extends Felicitations
Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, who attended as the chief guest, conveyed warm congratulations on behalf of the Parliament and people of Pakistan to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia.
Paying tribute to the visionary leadership of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founding father of modern Saudi Arabia, Gillani described the Kingdom as a “beacon of stability, faith, and progress in the Islamic world.”
Deep-Rooted Ties
Gillani highlighted the spiritual and historic significance of Saudi Arabia for Pakistan, noting that the land of Haramain Sharifain holds a special place in the hearts of all Pakistanis. He also recalled the 1974 Islamic Summit Conference in Lahore, underscoring the importance of Muslim unity in guiding bilateral relations.
The Senate Chairman welcomed the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, calling it a milestone that strengthens bilateral security cooperation. He stressed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia, describing it as both a duty and a sacred privilege.
Economic and Cultural Cooperation
On the economic front, Gillani praised the Kingdom’s investments in Pakistan under the framework of Vision 2030, particularly in areas such as:
