Saudi Arabia Opens Visa Issuance for New Umrah Season 1448 AH
Saudi Arabia has officially begun issuing Umrah visas for the new pilgrimage season, marking the start of preparations following the completion of this year’s Hajj operations.
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, visa processing and the arrival of international pilgrims for the 1448 AH Umrah season started on May 31, 2026. The process will continue until March 2027 as part of the annual pilgrimage schedule.
Umrah Visa and Travel Timeline
The ministry stated that Umrah visas will be issued until March 9, 2027 (corresponding to Shawwal 1, 1448 AH). Pilgrims will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until March 23, 2027.
All Umrah pilgrims are required to leave the Kingdom by April 7, 2027, marking the official closure of the season.
Digital Services Through Nusuk Platform
Pilgrims will continue to use the Nusuk platform for Umrah-related services, including permits, bookings, and travel arrangements. The platform serves as Saudi Arabia’s centralized digital system for managing pilgrimage services.
Authorities have emphasized that the digital system helps streamline procedures and improve the overall experience for pilgrims by offering online applications, electronic permits, and QR code verification.
Expansion and Infrastructure Development
Saudi Arabia is also continuing its efforts to modernize and expand infrastructure to accommodate increasing numbers of pilgrims under its Vision 2030 program. This includes improvements in transport systems, accommodation facilities, and service management in the holy cities.
Officials say these ongoing developments aim to enhance safety, efficiency, and convenience for millions of worshippers performing Umrah each year.
