Karachi Announces Tight Security Plan for Muharram
KARACHI — Authorities in Karachi have announced a comprehensive security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram following a high-level meeting held at Rangers Headquarters to review the city’s law and order situation.
The meeting, chaired by the Director General of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), focused on security arrangements for religious gatherings, majalis, and processions during the holy month.
Officials reviewed detailed security measures and approved a coordinated plan aimed at ensuring peace and public safety across the city.
Enhanced Security Measures
It was decided that joint flag marches by Rangers and police will be increased during Muharram. Snap-checking operations will also be intensified at key locations to strengthen security.
Authorities emphasized the importance of protecting all religious gatherings and ensuring safety for participants from all schools of thought.
The DG Rangers directed concerned agencies to maintain close coordination and improve intelligence-sharing to help prevent any possible threats. He also ordered stricter monitoring at inter-provincial entry and exit points in Sindh.
Public Cooperation Urged
Officials further agreed to enforce the approved code of conduct for Muharram across the province.
Law enforcement agencies have urged citizens to cooperate in maintaining peace, harmony, and religious tolerance during the month.
