Karachi Reports New Mpox Case as Health Authorities Continue Monitoring

Health authorities in Karachi have confirmed a new case of mpox, bringing the total number of reported cases in Sindh this year to 37.

According to officials, the patient is a 26-year-old resident of Karachi who is currently receiving medical care at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Centre (SIDH&RC).

Sources indicated that the individual had no recent history of international travel. Health authorities are continuing their assessment and monitoring procedures in accordance with established public health protocols.

The latest case follows two recently reported infections involving residents of different areas of Karachi. Officials have stated that increased public awareness may be contributing to a greater number of individuals seeking medical evaluation and testing when symptoms appear.

Medical experts have emphasized the importance of timely consultation and early diagnosis. They noted that awareness and access to healthcare services play a key role in disease monitoring and management.

The Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Centre has been actively managing and monitoring reported cases while coordinating with relevant health authorities.

Earlier this year, health officials also reported cases of mpox in other parts of Sindh, prompting continued surveillance and public health measures.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay informed through official health channels and seek medical advice if they experience symptoms or have concerns about possible exposure.

Public health officials continue to monitor the situation and encourage preventive measures, awareness, and timely reporting to healthcare providers when needed.
