Sindh Cabinet Approves Budget with Salary and Pension Increase
The Sindh Cabinet has approved the provincial budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year, clearing the way for its presentation in the Sindh Assembly.
According to official details, the proposed budget size is expected to exceed Rs. 2.7 trillion. The government has also proposed a 7% increase in salaries for government employees and a 5% increase in pensions for retired staff.
Officials said that while a higher salary increase was considered during discussions, financial constraints limited the final decision.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated during the cabinet meeting that the budget has been prepared keeping in view the needs of all segments of society. He added that efforts are being made to support welfare programs and address poverty-related challenges in the province.
The budget will be formally presented in the Sindh Assembly for further discussion and approval.
