WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup: Playoff Round Line-Up Confirmed in Group Prague
The playoff stage of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Prague has been confirmed after the conclusion of the opening round matches.
Chinese Taipei finished top of the standings after an unbeaten run, including wins over Canada and Australia. Canada secured second place, while Australia finished third. Italy claimed fourth place after defeating Cuba earlier in the day, ensuring their spot in the playoff round.
In the final opening-round standings, Chinese Taipei led the group, followed by Canada, Australia, and Italy. Cuba and Czechia will play for fifth place.
The playoff action begins with Czechia facing Cuba at 9:00, with the winner securing fifth position in the group.
A key clash follows at 12:00, where Chinese Taipei will meet Canada. The winner of this match will directly qualify for the 2027 Finals, while the losing team will have another opportunity later in the day.
Chinese Taipei head coach Hsin-Lin Han expressed confidence in her squad, highlighting that the team remains focused regardless of conditions or stage of competition. She also noted that the team used the final opening-round match to rotate pitchers and give players valuable game time.
Canada head coach Kaleigh Rafter acknowledged the strength of Chinese Taipei, praising their defensive structure and batting ability while expecting a challenging matchup.
