Government Announces Special Honorarium for Employees Involved in Budget Preparation

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced a special honorarium for government employees who participated in the preparation of the Federal Budget 2026-27.

Speaking in the National Assembly, the finance minister said eligible employees will receive an honorarium equivalent to six basic monthly salaries in recognition of their contributions to the budget process.

The announcement applies to officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Prime Minister’s Office, Parliament and other relevant departments that played a role in preparing and presenting the federal budget.

According to the finance minister, the honorarium is intended to acknowledge the additional effort and responsibilities undertaken by employees during the extensive budget preparation exercise.

Aurangzeb praised the dedication and hard work of government staff involved in the process, highlighting their role in supporting the formulation of the country’s financial and economic plans for the upcoming fiscal year.

In a separate announcement, the finance minister also shared an administrative initiative concerning the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

He stated that the FBR chairman and senior officials will conduct regular official visits to Karachi during the second week of every month. The move is aimed at strengthening coordination between tax authorities and the country’s largest commercial and business hub.

Officials believe the regular engagement will help improve communication, address operational matters more effectively and support ongoing efforts to enhance tax administration services.
