Pakistan Players Make Significant Gains in Latest ICC Test Rankings

Several Pakistan cricketers have improved their positions in the latest ICC Test rankings following their performances in the opening Test against the West Indies, despite Pakistan’s defeat in the match.
Babar Azam and Shan Masood Move Up
Former captain Babar Azam climbed four places to 15th in the ICC Test batting rankings with 686 rating points.
Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood made one of the biggest jumps, moving up eight spots to 36th after his century in the first Test. He now has 590 rating points.
Mixed Results for Pakistan Batters
While Babar and Shan gained ground, several Pakistan batters slipped in the rankings.
- Saud Shakeel dropped to 24th with 641 points
- Mohammad Rizwan fell eight places to 26th with 638 points
- Salman Ali Agha slipped to 32nd with 607 points
- Imam-ul-Haq retained 53rd place
- Abdullah Shafique moved down to 57th with 511 points
- Aamer Jamal remained in 100th position
Australia’s Travis Head continues to lead the ICC Test batting rankings, followed by England’s Harry Brook and Joe Root.
Mohammad Abbas Registers Major Improvement
In the ICC Test bowling rankings, Mohammad Abbas recorded Pakistan’s biggest rise, climbing nine places to 17th with 690 rating points after an impressive performance against the West Indies.
Spinner Noman Ali held onto 7th place with 809 points, remaining Pakistan’s highest-ranked Test bowler.
Other Pakistan bowlers saw the following changes:
- Shaheen Shah Afridi dropped to 29th with 617 points
- Sajid Khan slipped to 35th with 545 points
- Hasan Ali remained 38th
- Khurram Shahzad moved down to 52nd
- Aamer Jamal stayed at 81st
- Asif Afridi dropped to 87th
- Mohammad Ali slipped to 93rd
- Salman Ali Agha fell to 99th among Test bowlers
India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to hold the No. 1 position in the ICC Test bowling rankings, followed by New Zealand’s Matt Henry and Australia’s Mitchell Starc.
