Nigeria’s Samuel Ogazi delivered an impressive performance to win the men’s 400m gold medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Saturday at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow.
The NCAA champion produced a strong finish, crossing the line in 44.25 seconds to secure the Commonwealth title and add another major achievement to his growing athletics career.
Representing Trinidad and Tobago, Jereem Richards finished in second place with a time of 44.82 seconds, while South Africa’s Zakithi Nene claimed the bronze medal after clocking 45.21 seconds.
Ogazi’s victory strengthens Nigeria’s athletics campaign at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and highlights his status as one of the rising stars in international sprinting.
