Punjab Boards Revise Marks Improvement Rules for Students
The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has approved changes to the marks improvement policy, introducing new provisions for students who are absent from one or more examination papers.
Under the revised rules, a student’s previous marks will be used for any subject in which the candidate remains absent during the Part-I, Part-II or composite examinations.
According to the new policy, the relevant board will transfer the student’s previous result for that subject to the paper from which the candidate was absent. The marks will then be considered during the preparation of the final result.
Rules for Marks Improvement Candidates
The updated policy also covers students appearing in marks improvement examinations.
If a candidate remains absent from an examination paper during a marks improvement attempt, the board will declare the result as “Marks Improved.”
The revised procedure is intended to make the marks improvement process easier for students and provide clearer guidelines for handling cases involving examination absences.
Punjab’s educational boards will apply the updated rules while compiling results for candidates covered under the revised marks improvement policy.
Students appearing in Part-I, Part-II, composite or marks improvement examinations are advised to follow the examination schedule and rules issued by their respective boards.
