Athletics Beat Rockies 6-4 After Late Rally in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — The Athletics secured a 6-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night after a strong late-game comeback, highlighted by key plays from Lawrence Butler.

Butler scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning after a throwing error and later added an RBI single in the eighth to help seal the victory.

The Athletics also got power hitting from Shea Langeliers and Nick Kurtz, who hit back-to-back solo home runs in the fifth inning to keep the team in the game. Langeliers’ home run marked his team-leading 18th of the season, while Kurtz added his 16th.

On the pitching side, Mason Barnett earned the win after a short relief appearance, while Hogan Harris closed out the game to record his sixth save of the season.

For the Rockies, Cole Carrigg hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to give his team a brief lead. However, the Athletics responded quickly to regain control of the game.

The Rockies’ bullpen struggled to hold the lead, allowing the Athletics to complete their comeback victory.

The result adds another win for the Athletics as both teams continue their ongoing MLB season campaigns.
