Dodgers Beat Pirates 8-6 Despite Injury Concerns for Shohei Ohtani
The Los Angeles Dodgers secured an 8-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night, but the win was overshadowed by injury concerns for star two-way player Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani hit his 13th home run of the season in the third inning and contributed strongly at the plate, adding a single and drawing two walks. He reached base in all four of his appearances before being replaced by a pinch hitter in the seventh inning due to discomfort in his left knee.
Injury Updates for Dodgers Players
It was not immediately clear when Ohtani first experienced the knee issue. The team has not yet provided an update on the severity of the inflammation.
Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski also exited the game in the fifth inning after suffering a left hamstring contusion following a hard-hit line drive and a collision at first base.
Game Highlights
Andy Pages recorded two hits for the Dodgers, who took two out of three games in the series. Kyle Tucker contributed a key two-run single, while Miguel Rojas drove in two more runs.
For the Pirates, rookie Rafael Flores Jr. hit his first Major League home run, while Brandon Lowe also went deep. Flores, Nick Gonzales, and Spencer Horwitz each collected two hits in the contest.
