Dodgers Defeat Rockies 8-7 in Extra-Inning Thriller After Dalton Rushing’s Walk-Off Hit

Sports Correspondent: Imran Sohail

The Los Angeles Dodgers secured an exciting 8-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Monday night, with Dalton Rushing delivering a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning.

The win improved the Dodgers’ record to 60-32, making them the first Major League Baseball team to reach 60 victories this season. It also marked Los Angeles’ first extra-inning game of the 2026 campaign.

With automatic runner Teoscar Hernández starting the 11th inning on second base, Max Muncy received an intentional walk before Tommy Edman laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Hernández to third. Rushing then hit a single through the infield to drive home the winning run and complete a three-hit performance.

The Dodgers forced extra innings by tying the game 7-7 in the bottom of the 10th. Andy Pages, who began the inning on second base, advanced to third on Freddie Freeman’s groundout and later scored after a fielding error by Colorado second baseman Edouard Julien.

Earlier in the inning, the Rockies had taken a 7-6 lead when Jake McCarthy drove in a run with a groundout.

The closely contested game featured multiple lead changes before Los Angeles completed the comeback with its dramatic walk-off victory, strengthening its position at the top of the league standings.
