Eight Pakistani Women Successfully Summit 6,040-Meter Khusar Gang Peak

A team of eight Pakistani women climbers has successfully reached the summit of Khusar Gang Peak (6,040 meters) during the Alpine Club of Pakistan’s second women-led expedition to the mountain.

The achievement marks another milestone for women’s mountaineering in Pakistan and highlights the increasing participation of female climbers in high-altitude expeditions.

Team Represented Multiple Regions

The expedition was led by Bibi Afzoon and included participants from Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Islamabad, showcasing mountaineering talent from across the country.

Experienced Guides Supported the Expedition

The climbers received technical support from experienced high-altitude guides Ali Muhammad Sadpara, Sadiq Hussain Sadpara, and Ilyas Hushe throughout the ascent.

In addition, Qaid Shigri assisted the team by fixing ropes along the climbing route, helping ensure a safe and organized climb to the summit.

Alpine Club Applauds the Achievement

Alpine Club of Pakistan Secretary General Ayaz Shigri congratulated the team on their successful expedition, describing it as a proud achievement for Pakistan’s mountaineering community.

He said the accomplishment reflects the determination, skill, and resilience of Pakistani women and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to creating more opportunities for female climbers to participate in national and international expeditions.

The successful summit is expected to encourage greater female participation in adventure sports and mountaineering across Pakistan.
