The federal government has scheduled a cabinet meeting for June 10 to approve key components of the upcoming federal budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year, according to official sources.
Sources said the cabinet will review and give final approval to major budget documents before they are presented in Parliament. The meeting is expected to take place at the Parliament House ahead of the National Assembly’s budget session.
Officials added that a decision regarding possible salary increases for government employees is also likely to be discussed during the meeting, although no final announcement has been made yet.
The upcoming session is considered an important step in the budget-making process, as it will help finalize policy proposals and financial plans for the next fiscal year before their formal presentation in the legislature.
