Heavy Rains Damage Security Wall Near PAF Base Nur Khan
RAWALPINDI: Heavy monsoon rains have damaged an estimated 250 feet of the boundary wall of an Airport Security Force (ASF) garrison located near PAF Base Nur Khan and the old airport.
The damage occurred along Band Khanna Road, where part of the wall collapsed and left a temporary opening in the outer boundary. ASF authorities have increased security personnel in the affected area and requested assistance from Rawalpindi Police.
ASF Director and Chief Security Officer (CSO) North Airports Sher Muhammad Khan informed the Rawalpindi City Police Officer, Deputy Commissioner and other relevant authorities about the situation.
The ASF garrison includes the office of the Director General ASF, the CSO North office, residential facilities, government officers’ quarters and the ASF Public School. It is situated close to PAF Base Nur Khan and the old airport.
Following the damage, ASF officials deployed additional personnel, including Quick Response Force (QRF) teams, to strengthen security around the affected section and respond quickly to any emergency.
Authorities have also sought round-the-clock police presence outside the damaged portion of the wall. Police teams have been asked to increase patrolling, particularly during nighttime, and coordinate closely with ASF personnel.
Officials said the additional security measures would remain in place until the damaged section is permanently repaired. The area and overall security arrangements are also being monitored regularly.
