Inter-Services Public Relations: 22 Militants Killed in Joint Operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Security forces conducted a joint intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the killing of 22 militants, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operation was carried out on April 21 following reports of militant presence in the area. The ISPR stated that security forces and law enforcement agencies engaged in an exchange of fire with the suspects during the operation.

Details of the Operation

According to the military statement, the individuals were linked to a banned militant group. Weapons and ammunition were recovered during the operation.

The ISPR also reported that militants opened indiscriminate fire during the encounter, which led to the death of a 10-year-old child. Security forces have launched a follow-up search operation in the surrounding area to clear any remaining threats.

Ongoing Counter-Terrorism Efforts

The military said that counter-terrorism operations under the national security framework continue across the country to address militancy and ensure stability.

Officials emphasized that security forces remain committed to ongoing intelligence-based operations aimed at maintaining law and order.

Security Situation

Recent reports indicate that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has experienced an increase in militant-related incidents in recent years, prompting intensified security operations by law enforcement agencies.

Authorities continue to conduct coordinated operations involving multiple security institutions as part of broader counter-terrorism efforts.
