Intel Core i9-14900KF Hits Fastest Clock Speed Ever Recorded On a CPU

Intel Core i9-14900KF Sets New CPU Frequency Record at 9.2GHz

Intel’s Core i9-14900KF processor has achieved a new milestone in CPU overclocking after reaching an extraordinary clock speed of 9,206.34MHz, setting a new world record for frequency.

The record was achieved by Chinese overclocker “wytiwx,” who pushed the chip beyond the 9.2GHz mark using extreme liquid helium cooling, according to HWBOT listings.

Record Set on High-End ASUS Hardware

The overclocking result was achieved on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard paired with 16GB of DDR5 memory. The system also used a high-capacity ASUS ROG Thor 1600W power supply.

Reports indicate that the processor was running with only a limited number of cores enabled during the test and operated at approximately 1.348V to reach the record-breaking speed.

About the Core i9-14900KF

The Intel Core i9-14900KF is a 14th-generation Raptor Lake Refresh desktop CPU featuring 24 cores and 32 threads, including 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores.

Intel officially rates the chip for up to 6GHz boost frequency, making this overclock far beyond normal operating limits.

Extreme Overclocking Achievement

Such results are only possible under laboratory-level conditions using specialized cooling systems like liquid helium. This type of overclocking is not achievable in everyday consumer systems.

Despite that, the record highlights the continued strong performance headroom of Intel’s 14th Gen processors in extreme testing environments.
