Bangladesh national cricket team Clinch ODI Series Against New Zealand national cricket team After Dominant Win in Chattogram

Bangladesh secured a 2-1 series victory over New Zealand in the three-match ODI series after a convincing 55-run win in the final match in Chattogram.

A brilliant century by Najmul Hossain Shanto and a five-wicket haul from Mustafizur Rahman powered the hosts to a strong all-round performance.


Bangladesh Set Competitive Target

Batting first, Bangladesh posted 265/8 in 50 overs. Shanto played a key innings of 105 runs, anchoring the batting after early wickets fell. Litton Das also contributed with a fluent 76-run knock.

Despite early breakthroughs by New Zealand’s bowlers, Bangladesh recovered through a crucial 160-run partnership between Shanto and Litton Das.


New Zealand Fall Short in Chase

Chasing 266, New Zealand were bowled out for 210 in 44.5 overs. Nick Kelly top-scored with 59, while Dean Foxcroft added a fighting 75.

However, Mustafizur Rahman led a disciplined bowling attack, taking 5 wickets for 43 runs and breaking key partnerships at crucial moments.

For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman was the standout bowler, while Nahid Rana also contributed with important breakthroughs.

For New Zealand, Will O’Rourke and other bowlers provided early pressure, but Bangladesh’s recovery shifted momentum in the match.


Series Summary

With this victory, Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1 after New Zealand had taken the opening match. Bangladesh levelled the series in the second ODI before sealing the decider in Chattogram.

Najmul Hossain Shanto was named Player of the Match, while Nahid Rana was awarded Player of the Series for his consistent performances.
