Islamabad’s F-14 and F-15 Sectors Planned as Modern Eco-Friendly Residential Zones
The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has launched a development plan aimed at transforming Sectors F-14 and F-15 in Islamabad into modern, eco-friendly residential communities.
The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Works and FGEHA leadership, with a focus on sustainable urban planning and environmental protection.
Focus on Green Development
As part of the project, experts in horticulture and urban landscaping have reviewed the proposed sites and provided recommendations for improving green spaces, plantation areas, and recreational facilities.
Officials stated that the plan prioritizes environmentally sustainable design, aiming to preserve natural features while introducing modern residential infrastructure.
Key Features of the Project
The development plan includes a range of eco-friendly and recreational facilities, such as:
- Water conservation systems, including check dams to support groundwater recharge
- Large-scale nurseries for plantation and greenery development
- Cycling tracks and pedestrian walkways
- Scenic viewpoints and public seating areas
- Recreational spaces such as boating points and suspension bridges
Authorities also plan to integrate natural landscapes into the housing design to enhance the overall environment of the sectors.
Preservation of Natural Sites
Special attention is being given to preserving natural features within the area, including a cave and a lake located in Sector F-14. These sites are expected to be developed as eco-tourism and recreational attractions through planned landscaping and engineering work.
Project Vision
Officials from FGEHA stated that the project is designed to go beyond traditional housing development by combining modern infrastructure with environmental sustainability.
The goal is to create a model residential area in Islamabad that offers improved public amenities while maintaining ecological balance and natural beauty.
