SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nevada: Defending champion Joe Pavelski made a strong start to the American Century Championship, finishing the opening round with a two-point lead at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
The former NHL star recorded 29 points under the tournament’s modified Stableford scoring format, putting him at the top of the leaderboard after the first day of competition.
Celebrity Stars Close Behind
Former professional tennis player Mardy Fish sits in second place after the opening round, while NBA star Stephen Curry is close behind with 26 points.
Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo is also among the leading contenders, finishing the first round with 23 points.
